A Florida woman has been arrested after allegedly abandoning her 11-year-old son in a hotel room with a deceased man following a drug-filled sexual encounter with two men.
Amy Kemper, 32, reportedly confessed to authorities last week that she had engaged in drug use and a ménage à trois in a room at the Hammock Beach resort in Palm Coast, Florida. She later chose to leave her son in the room with a 60-year-old man while she departed with another man overnight on September 9, according to a statement from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
Kemper informed deputies that she became concerned when she noticed the older man snoring unusually. Upon their return, they discovered him unresponsive. Despite attempted CPR by medical personnel, he was pronounced dead in the room.
Inside the room, deputies allegedly uncovered narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly expressed his dismay, stating, “A woman thought it was okay to bring her child to a resort in the middle of the night, so she could engage in narcotic use and sexual activities. Unfortunately, her son was stuck alone in the room with the deceased male for several hours until she came back.”
Kemper has been arrested on charges of child neglect without great bodily harm and is currently detained at the Flagler County Jail with a bond set at $15,000.
The Florida Department of Children and Families has assumed custody of Kemper’s son.
