Donald Trump Risks Falling in Big Trouble For the Third Time Over a ‘ Forgotten Case ‘

Former President Donald Trump risks being sued for the third time as former Elle columnist E. Jean Carroll and her attorney, Shawn Crowley, respond to Trump’s recent comments at a Michigan rally.

Speaking on MSNBC’s “Inside With Jen Psaki,” Crowley emphasized that Trump’s statements were false and constituted defamation.

“The former president’s claim that he did not know E. Jean Carroll is a lie,” Crowley asserted on Monday night. “Two unanimous federal juries have found that not only did Trump know who E. Jean was, but he sexually assaulted her and lied about it repeatedly.”

According to Newsmax on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, Crowley stressed the significance of the recent $83.3 million damages awarded to Carroll by a New York City jury, citing it as evidence of the serious consequences Trump faces for his actions.

Despite this ruling, Trump has announced his intention to appeal the verdict. The attorney expressed disappointment, stating, “We had hoped that $83 million would maybe be enough to convince him to keep E. Jean Carroll’s name out of his mouth.”

The attorney continued to highlight the ongoing issue of Trump’s inability to control himself, referencing Trump’s recent rally where he asserted that lawsuits against him were “unfair.” Crowley explained, “Apparently, he showed us this weekend that he really cannot control himself.”

In addition to the $83.3 million awarded last month, Trump is already appealing another defamation trial’s decision in May, where he was ordered to pay Carroll $5 million.

Carroll has signaled her readiness to pursue legal action again, citing Trump’s post-trial behavior as continued defamation.

The saga began with Carroll’s allegations that Trump sexually assaulted her in a Manhattan department store dressing room in the 1990s.

Despite the unanimous jury decisions against him, Trump maintains his innocence and denies any wrongdoing.

Carroll and her legal team remain vigilant, closely monitoring Trump’s public statements and actions for potential grounds for a third lawsuit.

As the legal battle unfolds, the complex dynamics between Trump and Carroll underscore the challenges of addressing defamation claims against public figures.

The story continues to captivate attention, shedding light on the broader issues of accountability and consequences for powerful individuals in the public eye.
