As reported by Conservative Brief on Thursday, September 14, Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina has called for the imprisonment of Representative Adam Schiff should former President Donald Trump be convicted on charges of election interference in Georgia.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is using Trump’s tweets as evidence of his alleged racketeering activities.
One of the tweets in question, posted on January 3, 2021, read, “I spoke to Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger yesterday about Fulton County and voter fraud in Georgia.
He was unwilling, or unable, to answer questions such as the ‘ballots under table’ scam, ballot destruction, out-of-state ‘voters’, dead voters, and more. He has no clue!”
Another tweet referenced by the indictment was a December 3, 2020, post where Trump urged his followers to watch televised hearings related to the election.
The indictment described this tweet as “an overt act in furtherance of the conspiracy.”
Senator Lindsey Graham took to Twitter to express his concern over these developments.
He pointed out the double standard, highlighting Schiff’s repeated claims about Trump being a Russian agent during the Russian hoax and Mueller investigation.
Graham stated, “If watching a network show about the election is now a crime, then Schiff could be in big trouble. If that becomes a crime, Adam Schiff will be in jail for 1,000 years!”
Graham also noted the contrast between how Republicans and Democrats are treated when it comes to challenging an election result.
He mentioned Stacey Abrams, a two-time Democratic gubernatorial loser in Georgia, who has made similar claims of being cheated but faces no consequences.
Graham criticized this discrepancy, stating, “If you are a Democrat and you claim you were cheated, nothing happens. If a Republican does it, they try to put you in jail!”
This controversy adds to Schiff’s already tarnished reputation. Previously, he was removed from his position on the House Intelligence Committee and accused of illegally leaking classified information.
Former CIA Director Mike Pompeo claimed that Schiff leaked classified information provided to him during his time in Congress, causing great concern.
Additionally, Schiff faced an ethics complaint over a campaign video he released while launching his bid to retire Senator Dianne Feinstein’s seat.
The video featured a clip of Schiff presenting his case for Trump’s second impeachment on the Senate floor, which violated congressional rules according to the watchdog group Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust.
