A Pennsylvania couple, Justin Green, 41, and Brooke Pullin, 30, are currently in custody and facing multiple charges in connection with the death of Daryl Vincent Lee, 44, from Johnstown.
Lee’s lifeless body was discovered on the side of Route 403 in East Wheatfield Township on July 14.
An autopsy revealed that Lee’s death was a homicide caused by a single gunshot wound, and investigators found multicolored hair on his collar area.
After a thorough investigation, the authorities turned their attention to Justin Green, who had worked with Lee at three landscaping jobs on July 13.
At first, Green claimed that he had dropped Lee off at his home after work, but evidence and surveillance footage raised suspicions about his involvement, as well as that of his girlfriend, Brooke Pullin. Pullin, who had multicolored hair, told the police that on July 13, she and Green embarked on a road trip after he returned from work.
Upon searching Green’s Toyota Tundra pickup truck, law enforcement discovered two shotgun shells, along with several multicolored hairs and blood inside the vehicle.
The couple was arrested by Johnstown police, and a Visa card bearing the name “Daryl Lee” was found in their possession.
During further questioning, Green allegedly confessed that he had driven Lee across town in his truck to collect money from a landscaping customer.
While driving, he purportedly shot Lee with a 12-gauge shotgun that he had acquired from a yard sale. Green then claimed that he covered up Lee’s body with a shirt and some tools before returning home to pick up Pullin and their child for a road trip to Maryland. He insisted that Pullin had no knowledge of the body being in the vehicle.
Both Green and Pullin were arraigned and taken to Cambria County Prison. Green was denied bail, while Pullin’s bail was set at $150,000.
They are facing a range of charges, including abuse of a corpse, criminal homicide, tampering with physical evidence, false identification to law enforcement, and receiving stolen property.
As of now, it is uncertain whether they have obtained legal representation to speak on their behalf. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are determined to bring justice to Daryl Vincent Lee and his family.
