In a recent interview with Megyn Kelly, former President Donald Trump shed light on the perceived “mystery” surrounding his wife and former first lady, Melania Trump.

Trump described Melania, saying, “I think part of her beauty lies in that aura of mystery.”

When asked about misconceptions people might have about his wife, the former president responded, “She doesn’t feel the need to be constantly in the public eye or give interviews. She exudes confidence and self-assuredness.”

Despite Melania’s prominent role in her husband’s 2016 presidential campaign and throughout his presidency, she has maintained a relatively low public profile. Her reserved demeanor and limited media appearances have led to her being portrayed as an enigmatic figure, which sets her apart from previous first ladies.

Since leaving the White House, Melania has been seldom seen alongside her husband, even as he embarked on a third presidential bid and faced various legal proceedings related to four criminal indictments.

While Melania has not actively participated in the campaign this time around, Donald Trump shared that many of his supporters still hold her in high regard. He remarked, “She was a highly popular first lady. When I attend rallies, I see posters and signs expressing love for our first lady. We had some of the biggest rallies ever.”

During the interview on Kelly’s SiriusXM podcast, “The Megyn Kelly Show,” the former president also mentioned his wife’s mysterious nature. He recounted a conversation he had with the late journalist Barbara Walters about actress Greta Garbo and drew parallels between Garbo’s reclusive persona and Melania’s introspective and confident demeanor.

Trump also expressed disappointment that Vogue featured White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre but did not feature his wife, who had a modeling career before entering politics, on its cover after he entered politics.

He remarked, “[Melania] graced the cover of Vogue before and during our time in politics. But once I declared my presidential run, the coverage dwindled. It’s unfortunate, but Melania doesn’t let it bother her. She remains very composed.”

The interview with Megyn Kelly marked the first time the two had sat down for an interview in seven years.
