‘He Is Nothing of What He Pretends to Be’ Mary Trump Reveals the Truth About Trump’s Wealth & Lies

Former president Donald Trump is facing a series of legal challenges that could expose his true financial situation and shatter his self-image, according to his niece Mary Trump, who is a clinical psychologist and a vocal critic of her uncle, as reported by Benzinga on Monday, March 4, 2024.

In an interview with CNN on Saturday, Mary Trump delved into the psychology behind her uncle’s actions and his supposedly pretentious life as someone rich and wealthy.

She said that Donald Trump isn’t successful but is seen to be successful, and that this discrepancy haunts him.

“Deep down, Donald knows that he is nothing of what he pretends to be; He’s nothing like the portrait he shows to the world, at least to those people who are inclined to believe the myths he tells about himself,” she said, adding that this keeps him up at night.

One of the legal cases that could reveal Donald Trump’s financial reality is the New York fraud civil case, in which he and his family are accused of misleading investors in a multi-level marketing company called ACN.

The plaintiffs are seeking $464 million in damages, but Donald Trump’s lawyers have requested to post a $100 million bond instead, arguing that the penalty is excessive and unconstitutional.

Mary Trump said that the reason behind this request could be because he doesn’t have the money or to buy more time.

“But he may not indeed have that much cash … [it] would reveal not just to the world, but to himself that he is not as rich as he claims to be, he is not the savvy businessman who’s been betrayed in New York tabloids since the 1980s,” she said.

“And that would be a crushing blow not just to his image, but to his sense of himself.”

She also said that there is a difference between 2015 when he announced his decision to run for the first time, and now, as he faces the consequences of his actions and the loss of his power.

“I think for anybody in his position, it would be impossible not to be affected by the massive amount of stress he’s under, the conflicts, just the stress of running again, the stress of having lost….it’s going to take its toll,” she said. “I see somebody who’s quite desperate, and who is terrified.”

While noting that Donald Trump has always been a “terrified little boy,” Mary Trump said he has much more to be terrified about now, such as the criminal investigations in New York and Georgia, the lawsuits from his former associates and contractors, and the potential loss of his social media platforms and his influence over his supporters.

Mary Trump, who is the daughter of Donald Trump’s late brother Fred Trump Jr., has written two books about her uncle and his family, titled “Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World’s Most Dangerous Man” and “The Reckoning: Our Nation’s Trauma and Finding a Way to Heal.”

She has also testified against him in the New York fraud civil case, providing documents and recordings that allegedly show his involvement in the scheme.
