Authorities in Pennsylvania apprehended Matthew Harrison on Thursday in connection with the death of his wife, Jami Harrison. The Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office had been seeking Matthew on charges of murder, strangulation, and sexual assault.

The Northern Lancaster Regional Police Department later reported that Matthew was located at a hotel and taken into custody after a brief standoff. Jami, 49, was found dead in their Manheim residence after an 11-year-old child reported the incident to the police.

The child alleged that Matthew was abusive towards Jami, prompting officers to investigate. They discovered Jami with signs of strangulation, bruises, and indications of sexual assault. The authorities ruled her death a homicide due to strangulation. Jami, 49, has been identified by FOX 43WGAL, and ABC 27 as Matthew’s wife.

During the investigation, the police uncovered disturbing messages sent by Matthew to Jami, including insults and threats. Matthew allegedly messaged a family member on the day of Jami’s death, expressing thoughts of murder. Additional messages to Jami included ominous statements such as “you’re not getting away with this” and “how’s that for your marriage.”

Matthew allegedly informed a co-worker that he would not be returning and mentioned the “demon in me broke free.” On the day of Jami’s death, Matthew checked out of a hotel just hours before the police received the 911 call reporting the incident.

The arrest follows a string of troubling behaviors and messages, adding layers to the ongoing investigation.
