Trumper Congressman Jim Jordan finds himself in the crosshairs of a prominent former U.S. Military prosecutor, Glenn Kirschner, who has demanded criminal charges against Jordan for his alleged role as “an accessory after the fact” in covering up the January 6 insurrection led by then-President Donald Trump.

But the legal woes for Jordan don’t end there.

According to a news report by Occupy Democrats on X on October 8, Kirschner’s remarks, which also hint at a potential investigation by Special Counsel Jack Smith into insurrectionist actions within Congress, cast a dark shadow over Jordan’s aspirations to replace Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House.

Kirschner minced no words, stating, “I’m quite sure that Special Counsel Jack Smith has been investigating the insurrectionists in Congress.”

He pointed out that six members of Congress had sought pardons, indicating their awareness of potential crimes tied to the insurrection.

Kirschner also accused Jordan of attempting to shield Trump from accountability, effectively branding him an accessory to Trump’s alleged crimes through his actions on the so-called “weaponization of government” committee.

The allegations against Jordan have been met with widespread agreement, with many pointing to a mountain of evidence suggesting his involvement in both instigating and covering up the insurrection.

The notion that he could ascend to the role of Speaker of the House while under the cloud of potential criminal charges has drawn vehement criticism.

Observers note that Jordan’s actions leading up to and following the January 6 attack paint a troubling picture.

He was an early proponent of claims that Democrats would “steal” the election, directly alleged election theft, endorsed baseless conspiracy theories about Dominion and Smartmatic, and called for investigations into alleged election fraud.

Furthermore, Jordan played a pivotal role in the efforts to challenge the certification of the 2020 election results, meeting with Trump and House Republicans to coordinate plans, and urging his colleagues to object to certification.

These actions culminated in his support for Trump supporters to “remain peaceful” on January 6, a day marked by violence and an attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Jordan’s credibility further eroded when he made false claims about Speaker Pelosi and security preparations for January 6.

He also revealed, months later, that he had spoken with President Trump on January 6, raising questions about the nature of their communication and coordination.

The calls for criminal charges against Jim Jordan highlight the gravity of the January 6 insurrection and the potential role of certain members of Congress in inciting or covering up the events.

The nation now awaits the outcomes of ongoing investigations, which could have profound implications for the future of American politics and the principles of accountability and justice.
