During the wake of President Joe Biden’s election in 2020, there was significant hope among many Black Americans that his administration would bring about much-needed change and address the systemic issues plaguing urban communities.

According to Larry Elder of Fox News on September 25, 2023, he said that however, as time has passed, it has become increasingly clear that Biden’s urban bureaucracy is falling short in addressing the devastating problems that disproportionately affect Black communities.

One of the most pressing issues facing Black communities across the United States is the ongoing problem of gun violence.

In cities like Chicago, Detroit, and Baltimore, gun violence has reached epidemic levels, claiming the lives of far too many young Black individuals.

Despite campaign promises to implement stricter gun control measures, the Biden administration has made little progress in curbing this crisis.

The lack of meaningful action on gun violence is a stark failure of urban policy that disproportionately affects Black communities.

Another issue that has been exacerbated by Biden’s urban bureaucracy is the affordable housing crisis.

Black Americans are more likely to face housing insecurity and homelessness, and this problem has only been exacerbated by rising housing costs and limited affordable housing options.

The Biden administration has yet to implement comprehensive policies to address this issue, leaving many Black families struggling to find stable and affordable housing.

Education is another area where Biden’s urban policies have fallen short.

Despite promises to address educational disparities, many Black students continue to attend underfunded and struggling schools.

Gun violence, affordable housing, education, criminal justice reform, economic inequality, and environmental justice all require urgent attention, and the Biden administration must take more decisive action to fulfill its promises to Black Americans.

Without meaningful change, the devastating problems facing Black communities will persist, perpetuating the cycle of inequality and injustice that has plagued them for far too long.
