Biden’s Strong Message After Trump Praised Terrorists as “Very Smart” People

President Joe Biden on Thursday, October 12, responded swiftly to former President Trump’s controversial comments, wherein he referred to Hezbollah as “very smart” amid the escalating violence in Israel.

Trump’s remarks were made during a speech in Florida, just days after Hamas initiated terrorist attacks against Israel.

Expressing concern over Israel’s defenses, Trump recounted an incident where the Israeli defense minister warned Hezbollah against launching an attack from the north, deeming it the most vulnerable spot.

Trump, however, commended Hezbollah’s strategic insight, a sentiment he believes the press doesn’t appreciate.

President Biden took to X, formerly known as Twitter, emphasizing the unwavering support of the United States for Israel.

He reposted Trump’s video praising the terrorists as ‘very smart’ people before Biden firmly asserted that there is never an appropriate time to praise terrorists seeking to harm the nation.

“Our nation’s support for Israel is resolute and unwavering. And the right time to praise the terrorists who seek to destroy them is never,” read Biden’s tweet on X.

The Hill reports that Biden’s aides were equally forceful in their condemnation. Kevin Munoz, a spokesperson for the Biden campaign, denounced Trump’s rhetoric as “sickening” and expressed concern about Trump’s fitness for international leadership.

Andrew Bates, a deputy press secretary at the White House, questioned the rationale behind praising an Iran-backed terrorist organization as “smart.”

He emphasized the need for the United States to warn terrorists against attacking Israel, especially as the nation grapples with one of the deadliest acts of terrorism in its history.

Jamie Harrison, chairman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), did not mince words, labeling Trump’s comments as “disgusting, depraved, and dangerous.”

He juxtaposed Trump’s behavior with President Biden’s resolute condemnation of the heinous acts of terrorism and his unequivocal support for Israel.

Since the onset of the attacks on Israel, President Biden has delivered multiple speeches, unequivocally condemning the violence as “abhorrent.”

His administration has taken concrete steps to support Israel, including repositioning military assets in the region and dispatching interceptors and munitions in the aftermath of the attacks.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken underscored the gravity of the situation by traveling to Israel and delivering remarks alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The toll of the attacks is staggering, with over 1,000 Israelis losing their lives and hundreds of Palestinians perishing in the ensuing conflict in Gaza.

Tragically, at least 25 Americans are among the casualties, a fact confirmed by Secretary Blinken on Thursday.

In the face of this crisis, President Biden’s unwavering commitment to Israel and his resolute condemnation of terrorism stand as pillars of strength in a world grappling with the horrors of violence and conflict.

The stark contrast in leadership approaches between Biden and his predecessor couldn’t be more evident.
